Tours usually last 6-8 hours allowing you to maximise your time in the Highlands.
We love all of the Scottish whiskies from Highland Park to Jura and Lagavulin to Aberlour but if we were forced to pick a favourite area of Scotland it would have to be the Highlands. The whisky being produced right on our doorstep can stand up and be counted among the best in the world. With a huge variety being sold from Glen Ord to Balblair and Clynelish to Glenmorangie there really is a whisky to suit all tastebuds. |
Clynelish distillery
Balblair distillery
Glenmorangie distillery
SINGLETON OF GLEN ORD
Dalmore Distillery - Currently closed to the public as they are building a new distillery and visitor centre but views are possible and we are hopeful they will reopen to the public at some point. We are keeping an eye on the situation and will update the website as soon as we know more.
Whisky - scenery - castles
We understand some groups want to visit distilleries and see the scenery and visit a castle or two. This is 100% possible.
The Struie Hill Viewpoint (as it's known to the locals) is often a very popular stop on a whisky tour with stunning views of the Dornoch Firth and the surrounding mountains to the north and west. Also a great place to enjoy a dram.
The Falls of Shin and the Salmon Leap is close by and Atlantic salmon can often be seen leaping the falls, making the final push toward their birthplace for the cycle to start all over again.
Dunrobin Castle is one of our favourite places to go in Scotland and always goes down well with guests to the Scottish Highlands. The falconry display is amazing - Andy (the falconer) has been working with birds of prey for many years and his knowledge and passion shine throughout his display. The castle is like something out of a fairytale and set in the Scottish Highlands it looks magnificent!! It's only a short drive to Clynelish, Balblair and Glenmorangie so some or all of these can be included in your tour.
Dornoch is a must see place in Scotland - one of our favourite Scottish villages. It is home to a stunning golden sandy beach and the world class Royal Dornoch golf course. But even without these things it just takes you to another time altogether. Highly, highly recommend!!
Carn Liath is only a 2 minute drive north of Dunrobin Castle and is a fine example of a broch – a type of fortification found only in Scotland. It also offers great views of Dunrobin Castle.
