Inverness (drive through)The capital of the Highlands sits on the river ness and features excellent restaurants, walks and shopping opportunities. Inverness Castle sits proudly as the centrepiece of the Highland Capital unfortunately you can only view the castle from outside as it is the Sheriff's Court.

Culloden BattlefieldThe final battle between the British Army and Jacobite forces took place on the moors of Culloden finally putting an end to the Scots bid for freedom.
The visitor centre and exhibition take you on a journey back in time and give you a real insight in to what happened all those years ago. There's also a great example of a Thatch house which we rather like! |
Cawdor CastleDating from the late 14th century and still lived in to this day Cawdor Castle is magnificent to behold and is a fantastic example of a private fortress.
Fromer Vogue editor, Lady Isabella Cawdor, moves to another residence during the summer to allow guests to wander around her home in amazement. Mentioned in Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Cawdor Castle has a medieval tower built around the legendary holly tree. The grounds are gardens are also a big draw to the castle. |
