Departure from the port as close to 8am as possible but just as soon as all guests manage to disembark. The drive to Urquhart Castle is very picturesque taking you through rolling hills and farmland. Along the way you will have an opportunity to hear about the history of the area and find out a little more about your guide and their experiences of living in the Scottish Highlands.
Arrive at the 14th-century Urquhart Castle ruins, magnificently situated right on the edge of the loch; it is one of the most photographed scenes in Scotland. Enjoy a video presentation and an optional audio tour plus your guide will be there to answer any questions. You'll have time to explore the ruins and enjoy the magnificent views over Loch Ness.
10:45am -11:45am - Cruise on Loch Ness from Urquhart Castle to Dochgarroch Locks on the Jacobite Cruise (entry included). A 60-minute cruise on the world famous loch is the best way to experience Loch Ness and the Great Glen. You will learn all about Nessie the Loch Ness Monster and hear about the history and geology of the fresh water lake. Loch Ness is surrounded by beautiful scenery and mountains so sit back, enjoy the views and have your camera out just in case Nessie pops up to say hello. There's also a fully stocked bar and coffee service on board.
1pm - Arrive at Cawdor Castle where you will have time to peruse the castle, gardens and grounds. They also serve delicious food, teas, coffees and home baking.
Lunch: Please see below for the menu from Cawdor Castle for packed lunches which can be pre-ordered. Just let us know what you would like and we will pass this on to Cawdor Castle.
You will then be able to pick it up and pay on the day. Saving you time and ensuring you have more time to explore the castle and gardens.

The alternative is to just turn up on the day and choose something from the menu but please be advised this can take longer. We’re always looking to make sure our guests have the best day possible.
Next up is Culloden Battlefield - Here there is the option to go into the visitor centre (this is not included) or you can walk the battlefield with your tour guide Fiona who will tell you all about the battle and also treat you to a bit of Gaelic singing (no other tour has a Gaelic singing tour guide) along with a whisky toast. This is such a special part of the tour and something Fiona came up with herself and is very proud of. Sir Ian McKellan was so captivated by Fiona he ended up joining our group tour while visiting the battlefield incognito. Fiona couldn't believe it when she saw who had blagged their way on to her tour.
Depart Culloden Battlefield taking a beautifully scenic route over the Black Isle and past the Cromarty Firth with opportunities to potentially see seals basking in the sunshine (depending on the tides and if the sun decides to come out).
4:30pm - Arrive back in Invergordon
