Scottish History Tour

Tours last for approximately 6-8 hours allowing you to maximise your time in the Highlands. Shorter tours can be organised on request should your cruise dock for less than 6 hours as can longer tours be organised should you wish to see more of Scotland.
We will depart from Invergordon’s Cruise Liner Port as close to 8am as possible, taking in the beautiful scenery of the Scottish Highlands. We like to pride ourselves on the fact we don't run to a set itinerary for the day. We have a number of highlights that we will recommend but you are in charge of the tour and you decide where to go. Naturally you will be able to stop for numerous picture opportunities and we will return to Invergordon's cruise liner port at whatever time suits you.

Culloden Battlefield

CULLODEN BATTLEFIELD EXHIBITION AND VISITOR CENTRE
"The course of British, European and world history was changed here at Culloden on 16 April 1746. It was here that the Jacobite army fought to reclaim the throne of Britain from the Hanoverians for a Stuart king. The British army was equally determined to stop this happening. The ferocious European war had come to Scotland - dividing families and setting clan against clan.
With the new visitor centre and exhibition now open there's so much more to experience at Culloden Battlefield." Culture 24.org

Fort George

FORT GEORGE
Fort George was Britain's strongest ever fortification - designed to halt any future Jacobite attempt on the throne. Completed in 1769, it used the very latest military architecture, and was intended to be the base for 2,000 men with large amounts of artillery. Its might was never put to the test and it stands today as one of the best preserved artillery fortresses of its period in the world. Run by Historic Scotland, it is also one of the biggest visitor attractions in the Highlands.

Urquhart Castle

The historic Urquhart Castle proudly sits on the shores of Loch Ness and draws crowds from all over the world. The present ruins date from the 13th to 16th centuries but some sources claim William the Lion had a royal castle at Urquhart in the 12th century.
What better way to see it than cruising in on a boat and the best thing about this option is you don't have to queue at Urquhart Castle which is a huge bonus or cruise days.
